The blended learning model described here is a brilliant way to harness the advantages offered by mobile education technologies without foregoing the personal interactions and on-the-ground support that are so crucial to the learning process. Your partnerships with existing organizations who are familiar with the local situation make course facilitation feasible and cost-effective, and its great that you work with them to adapt your model to local contexts. Complex problems require detailed solutions, so it's great that SNHU is putting in the work where it's needed!

Your solution complements very nicely with the solution we describe in "AllMyTalentsValued".

Maybe there is the opportunity to join forces at some point in the development process.

Best, Adrian

Finally! A thoughtful effort which regards our displaced brothers and sisters as brilliant humans and beneficial social resources rather than abject social liabilities. Thank you Chrystina for your work!!

I have been to refugee camps, I have even been a refugee for 8 years (1996-2004). There were different resettlement programs and it went well to that end. All of the sudden, different young people who did not get a chance to continue their studies struggled. They could not understand why they are sent out of the camp since they cannot afford the cost of the external life though it is not easy in camps. The chance to get into a school at the age of 25 was also very low since even the kids were sitting on the ground in classrooms. Adults could simply realize that it was not their place. Fortunately (for me), I was still a kid and could go to school once again. All that to say that programs that empower refugees should be encouraged, supported and expanded throughout the camps all over the world. The competency-based learning is what they need; it is what could get them "armed" with useful skills because they might soon get out of the camps and join others to the job market. There is a need to get them out of that routine; that routine of working for some coins which can barely help to pay for their living. Last year, the Olympic games showcased the talents from refugee camps. It was simply amazing! I hope that with this program--in coming years--the higher grades in Universities, the best performers at work and critical thinking toward resolving social issues will be acknowledged to refugee students--who shall have become great professionals.

This idea is going to change the life of many people especially the youth in the camp. I have seen it here in Rwanda.  Changing the life of the youth is changing the life of many people in the camp.

This is a great idea. In the past, refugees young people were not comfortable at all specifically to high education. I hope with this idea, the problem is going to be solved. I really appreciate the idea.

You are a parent to us and then you still want to be a parent to them. Go higher and change their life to.

With no doubt, this is a very interesting learning model that would help the refugees to access high quality education. This is so because SNHU is a very good university that offers courses designed in a unique way, that provides the student to get the most skills set out of it.

Chrystina, I appreciate this idea for making effort and finding solutions for refugees problems, and we are behind you. The great idea like this could never fail. In life, nothing can satisfy and please your soul as much as helping others who are in trouble like those refugees. Let’s try to find any possible support about helping the poor and needy refugees.
